Below are a few things to help you prepare for your big night!

Make a list.

Think of all your wine-loving friends! Then, narrow down your list to those that will love learning more about CLEAN-CRAFTED wine. For your invite list - think quality over quantity. You want to share this night with individuals who truly appreciate what makes this wine special, versus coming to drink all the free wine. Listen, we all have those friends - no judgement from me!

Promote it.

I love using Facebook Events to bring the invitees together & share info about the wine. This will help bring excitement leading up to your tasting! Once the FB Event is created and you accept the invite, I’ll make you an admin so you can invite people you think would be interested in ordering wine! An attendance of about 10-15 people is ideal (although smaller is fun too). Definitely no more than 15 though for sure! Your goal is to reach $600 in sales. By hitting this magical number ($600), you’ll unlock your hostess rewards which includes THREE bottles of YOUR choice at 60% off!

Party Prep.

Leading up to your tasting, I’ll pop in the FB Event & share more details about Scout & Cellar, the business, AND of course the wine. Talk it up with your friends in the weeks leading up to your tasting so they can get even more excited! I find that personal text messages help remind people to add it to their calendar. Then, the week of, send reminder texts! Mom brain is real, yo.

Remind your friends that the event won’t be “cash and carry” so they understand they’ll order their wine, not take home their wine. We want them to understand their wine will be delivered to their doorstep in the weeks following the tasting. I’ll bring 4-6 bottles of wine, and each person gets a sample pour of each wine.

Taste it. Go Time!

I’ll provide the wine & wine glasses, you provide the home! A large tabletop or island is perfect for set up. I’ll plan to get there approx 30 minute early to set up the wine, glasses, and a few other items! Feel free to have light snacks on hand (think pairs well with wine - cheese, crackers, chocolates, etc) for your guests along with plates & napkins. No need to get over the top - just something to munch on! Water is also a nice touch too!

Hot tip: try not to light candles as that can interfere with the aroma of the wine.

Once everyone’s had a chance to taste each wine, I’ll work with individuals to make sure we curate an order that fits their taste preference! We have 40-80 wines in rotation at any given time. Just because I don’t feature a wine, doesn’t mean it’s not available. I’ll also share about our Satisfaction Guarantee which allows everyone to feel confident in ordering! Whew - that was a lot!

Story time.

I’ll share info about the wine, the story of our brand, the family that is behind where the wine has been grown - this is some of the best magic about Scout & Cellar - all the farmers we get to work with! Once the tasting is complete, I’ll share details on how everyone can order. I’d love your support to help encourage your friends to order their wine at the end of the tasting.

I’ll encourage people to fill out their payment info before the tasting, which helps the ordering part run much smoother. I have a personalized QR code on the tasting sheet that guests can scan & enter their info so that everything is private and safe.

Market it.

Your tasting will be assigned a personalized link, so if you have friends or family that are unable to attend in person, you can send them the link to order on their own. If they have questions about our wine, I’d be happy to reach out to them directly to help them select wines to order.

Again, our goal is to market $600 in wine at your tasting which unlocks your hostess rewards. If you have suggestions on how I can support you with this, let me know!
